In 1969, RAC had taken up the GLS program. But in 1969, in order for RAC to take up the A/M program it had to be new and this involved all new aerodynamic arrangements with the A/M program. Consequently, this was one of the last years that we had in which a BLS F3 car could possibly start up as a test car. So we had an F3 car that was based on an F3 car – an F3 car that was based on the F1 car, and that was that car. So RAC took it upon themselves to take that car forward (because it looked like something close to a BLS F3 car in terms of aerodynamics, though they had not decided on the car design) and start it up. So we did that.

Sporting director Stefano Cagliari told media at the end of October that the team was making its final decision due to a “difficult time”.
